The Feldberg
Anyone who has ever surveyed the Alpine panorama from the 1,493m high Feldberg peak, or enjoyed a hearty snack in the mountain hut after a long march along the High-Road trail, will definitely be back again. The Feldberg is the highest of the Black Forest peaks. Luckily the area surrounding the Feldberg and Belchen enjoys a good ‘snow-guarantee’. The first German ski club was founded here in 1891 in Todtnau. Today the area offers ski-pistes with varying levels of difficulty, ski schools and snowboarding courses, as well as well-maintained cross-country runs spanning the wide upper plateaus and passing through deep mountain forests.
